I've been struggling forever to find a drugstore foundation that's pale enough for my skin AND cruelty free. Thus, when I saw the 'Even Skin Tone Beautifying Foundation' for Catrice in a shade that can only be described as off-white, I knew I needed it. My shade is 005 Even Ivory, which was apparently a new shade for Catrice foundations when this particular one came out. It cost around €8 in the Chemist where I bought it, though prices vary. The packaging is very expensive looking for the price, with frosted glass. It's 1.01 fl. oz., so there's a good amount too.
I've compared the shade to what little I have left of my Rimmel foundation in Light Porcelain (it used to be my only drugstore pale foundation until I found out that they test). It's actually lighter, and slightly warmer toned. Though my skin is slightly cool toned I've been loving it to balance out the redness on my cheeks.
The formula is amazing for a drugstore product, it's extremely dewy and applies so smoothly! Most people would need to set this with powder, I just set my T-zone since my skin is so dry. The coverage is so high that I only need to use one pump, and I use a damp Real Techniques 'Miracle Complexion Sponge' to blend it out, as per usual! It blends really easily with concealer, and whilst layering up base make up usually cakes on my skin, I don't have this issue at all with this foundation. It's the perfect base for anything, and I'm naming it my new holy grail foundation...it's even overtaken my NARS Sheer Glow, it's that good!
It lasts well throughout the day as well, especially when set. Like I said, it's dewy and wet looking, but it doesn't rub off or melt when warm. My only complaint is that without a slight dusting of powder it's a little bit tough to blend powder cheek products over, but it's perfect for cream products as they won't move it too much, seeing as it doesn't dry.
I highly recommend this to anyone, whether you're looking for pale shades or not. I really hope that in the future Catrice brings out their 005 shade in other foundations so that I can try them out too!
I hope this answered any questions that you had about this foundation, and thank you again so much for reading!
